Tony Pulis has said that he is hoping Danny Higginbotham will be fit for Monday night’s televised clash with Coventry.

The defender was taken off at half time during Stoke’s 2-1 defeat at Leicester on Tuesday with a thigh strain and is struggling to get fit.

Pulis told the official site: ‘He’s improving, but only slowly so it will touch and go up to the wire with Danny’.

Having said that, TP has a good backup with Clint Hill regaining full fitness should Higgs fail the late fitness test on Monday.
