Erik Pieters has won the Vital Stoke man of the match award for his performance in the Potters 1-0 victory against Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium.

The Dutchmen was in superb form for the Potters, keeping both Eden Hazard and Willian quiet in a highly contested game.

His immaculate tackling and positioning helped the team to another clean sheet, whilst his willingness to push forward helped Marko Arnautovic to enjoy freedom as the duo doubled up on the inexperienced Kurt Zouma.

The 27-year old receives 5 maximum Player of the season points after winning the poll with 50% of the vote, beating Xherdan Shaqiri (21%) who receives 3pts and Jack Butland (8%) who receives 1pt.
