With some reports today saying that Stoke City had re-bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino – that speculation has been denied.

Plenty of outlets this morning were carrying reports that Stoke had reignited their interest in the England man following our summer pursuit of him where a deal couldn’t be struck, and some suggested a fresh but lower offer of £12million had now gone in to reflect his shrinking contract at West Brom.

However the Sentinel report that sources and friends they have inside of the club have rubbished the reports and suggested it’s just the click bait redtops filling column inches through their own invention again.

There’s no debate over our interest in the former England Under 21 international and with a mix of attitude and behaviour he’s had a woeful time of things since his move the other year to Tottenham Hotspur fell down but clearly manager Mark Hughes believes he can keep the serial tweeter focused and back to his best given his clear eye for a goal. I also guess with fitness problems this year Hughes believes he can keep him in shape to earn his wages.

The Sentinel report that Stoke are willing to roughly admit they are monitoring the situation and have told West Brom to name a fee this month, but other than that nothing else is going on and certainly no offer has been made this month.

I can’t see this one happening now at all.
