A short time ago Stoke City confirmed that Eddie Niedzwiecki had taken charge of training today following the sacking of Mark Hughes.

Having taken the training session on, the club confirmed that he was now responsible for first team affairs whilst our search for a new managerial appointment continues, and he will be helped in that role by Andy Quy and Kevin Russell until a new man is through the door.

Assistant manager Mark Bowen has also departed the club this week and a brief statement from the club stated.

‘We thank him for his efforts over the past four and a half years and wish him the very best for the future.’
