Keeper, Carlo Nash has finally completed his loan signing from Wigan.

It’s taken a week to sort out Nash’s loan contract after Sunderland recalled Marton Fulop after only four days of his loan period. Nash will, hopefully, stay until the end of the season and Tony Pulis is hoping to use him to ring the changes in the Stoke goal. Steve Simonsen is likely to face being dropped to the bench and warned that he has to fight to regain his place.

Stoke fans seem to be generally behind the ever present Stoke keeper who has had the number 1 spot to himself since taking over from Ed de Goey in his first year at the Brit in the 2004/05 season. But it may be that some real competition for the keeper’s place may just be the right thing at this point in time.

Stoke have also announced that reserve keeper, Russell Hoult has rejoined Notts County on loan after making the trip to QPR on Sunday to provide cover for Simo in Nash’s absence.
