Liverpool look to have a rival in the chase for the signature of goalkeeper Jack Butland should Stoke City suffer relegation at the end of the current season.

Liverpool are said to be looking for a new keeper either to take the place of or be an understudy to Loris Karius, currently the Anfield number one, but there is a report in the Sun newspaper that says that Wolves are ready to challenge Liverpool to get the services of Butland.

Its no secret that there are a number of clubs who are monitoring Butland, a keeper tipped by many to become the future England first choice and Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the keeper who has an estimated value of around £35m, a price that Wolves supremo Nuno Esprito is prepared to shell out.

Wolves would be gambling on the fact that Butland would be the number one at their place as they set out to remain in the top flight next season where he might find his chances not coming as often at Anfield.

We shall see.
