There’s little chance for the Potters to bask in the glory of their best ever win in the Premier League as they travel to Wigan on Tuesday night intent on increasing their current run that now stretches to six matches in all competitions and aiming for their second win on the road this season.

The Potters will take along their usual healthy travelling support with just under 2,000 expected to make the trip up the M6.

Vital Quotes:

Tony Pulis has been bemoaning the Potters’ success rate away from home: ‘We’ve created great chances away from home – we’ve just got to put some away.’

Wigan Team News:

Wigan’s new signings, Victor Moses and Marcelo Moreno will both be angling for a start after making their debuts from the bench in their 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Saturday.

Player to watch: Maynor Figueroa

Rory Delap is likely to be keeping a very close eye on Figueroa after he turned his back on the midfielder whilst his free-kick sailed 60 yards over a stranded Sorensen to level the score at the Brit back in December.

Stoke City Team News:

Stoke will be hoping that Abdoulaye Faye’s back is better, but still have the battle scarred Andy Wilkinson available after his heroics in front of goal on Saturday. Tuncay is likely to start as Tony Pulis rotates the front row with Ricardo Fuller replacing him on the bench.

Player to watch: Matthew Etherington

Was that an England international quality performance on Saturday? Whether Capello eventually picks him is still up in the air, but we’ll be happy if he just keeps turning in those sorts of performances week after week.
