Manager Paul Lambert has admitted that Stoke City do have some injury issues ahead of this weekend’s clash with Leicester City.

Stoke make the trip across the Midlands to the King Power Stadium this weekend looking for our second away win of the current season, but speaking to the Official Website as he met with the media for his pre game press conference, Lambert said a number of players would be assessed late on ahead of the game as we had a number of knocks and niggles.

The Scotsman explained about potential enforced changes to his line up.

‘We have one or two knocks and niggles, so we are going to have to check on them tomorrow. It is too early to say whether they will make it or not, so as it stands you would have to say they are doubts. But, as I say, we will get them back in tomorrow morning and see how they are. If they come through and make it then great, but if not then we have a big enough squad to cope.’

One player definitely out is striker Peter Crouch as he continues to recover from his ankle injury, but he shouldn’t be far off a return now.

‘The game will come around a little bit too early for Peter, but he is making good progress which is pleasing. Realistically, he could be back in contention for the Southampton game next weekend.’

Stephen Ireland also remains sidelined with his ongoing issues, but Bruno Martins Indi has recovered sufficiently enough from his leg injury to come back into contention for the game.
