It’s being reported that talks will be taking place between the Stoke City board and Paul Lambert today (Friday).

The talks are being held to try to decide whether the Scot should remain at the Bet 365 Stadium as their manager who leads the club into next season.

Lambert still has  two years on his current contract to run, but it is believed that there is a clause written in that would enable City to dump Lambert in the summer. It was hoped that the former Aston Villa boss would be able to keep Stoke from the drop into the Championship after the sacking of Mark Hughes last season, but Lambert could only manage a points haul of 13 points from his 15 games in charge.

And three of those points came after relegation had been confirmed.

The report appears in the Daily Mail, but earlier reports have said that David Moyes is being lined up for the job.

Moyes is available after being removed from his post as West Ham manager who he managed to keep from going down. he even found a way of turning former Stoke player Marko Arnautovic into a decent sort of player on a regular basis.

Time will tell.
