Stoke City manager Paul Lambert has made the surprise admission that one man could be in line for a first team recall this weekend when we face Everton in the final game ahead of the March international break.

Meeting with the media to preview the upcoming game, Lambert told the Official Website that Senegalese international Mame Diouf could make an appearance as he looks at his available options.

Diouf sustained a shoulder injury earlier this month in the scoreless draw with Southampton and the initial assessments indicated he could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but Lambert confirmed he’d been making good progress so there was an outside chance he would feature.

‘With regards to Mame, he has a slight chance, but we are going to have to have a look at him over the next day or so. We have other options though – Peter is fine, Saido is in my thinking too and we have players like Jese and Choupo who can play up there too.’

Lambert went on to say.

‘There are a few decisions to be made before kick-off and there are a few areas of the pitch that we may need to shake things up in a little bit.’

One man who could benefit from line up changes is Egyptian international Ramadan Sobhi as the gaffer admitted he’d been very impressed with his substitute performance against Manchester City.

‘I thought Ramadan did well on Monday, and he is ready to play. He is enthusiastic and has really good attributes – he has good speed and he has a lot to learn, so he is really in my thinking for the game.’
