Stoke City star Liam Lawrence has finished the season at the top of the 2007/08 Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

It sparks a double celebration for the midfielder, following his side’s promotion to the top flight, after scoring 687 points from 41 games played.

He chipped in with 14 goals to help average 17 points per game with his highest individual match score coming with a 50-point haul coming against Scunthorpe back in February.

Leon Cort was the second-highest ranked Stoke player in 14th overall, 116 points adrift of his team-mate. Fellow defender Ryan Shawcross was a place further back with 561 points.

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
