Loanee Michael Kightly is set to leave the Britannia Stadium for newly promoted Burnley.

Kightly, 28, has been on a season long loan deal at Turf Moor all season and has been integral in the Clarets promotion campaign.

The former Wolves winger believes he has no future at Stoke after being given the cold shoulder and would relish a move to Turf Moor permanently.

He told the Southend Echo:

“Since I`ve been here I`ve not spoken to anyone from Stoke so I think that shows I won`t be there next season.

‘Winning promotion here is one of the best moments of my career so of course I would like to stay and help them in the Premier League.’

The Potters will most likely look to move on the winger but for the right price.

Kightly was brought from Wolves for an undisclosed fee, rumoured to be around £2.5 million, a fee Stoke would want recoup and maybe build on.
