Stoke City defender Kevin Wimmer could have a way out of the club paved for him after reports are coming through that Hannover are interested in signing him.
The club are interested in bringing he Austrian back to the Bundesliga and that could present Stoke with a way of getting a big wage off their budget for the coming season.
The club will certainly lose out on any deal that they would be able to do as the unimpressive defender cost Stoke £18 million to bring him from Tottenham in August, a move which must have pleased the London based club’s board.
The 25 year old has only made 17 appearances for Stoke and along with Saido Berahino and Giannelli Imbula, he must go onto the list of not great signings that the club seem to get every season.
Wimmer last played in the Bundesliga for FC Koln during the 2014-15 season.
