Is Pulis overreacting?… Of course he’s not!

I can imagine most fans think Pulis is a moaning little runt who is kicking up a big fuss over nothing. Well he is moaning but justifiably so after all these basic, simple decisions have gone against his side.

Saturday 21st August Tottenham (h) Final Score: 1-2

In the last minute Stoke are attacking, trying to grab a late equaliser and it looks as though we may get a deserved point when Jon Walters, on debut, dived in to head a loose ball into the net. It was cleared by the hands of Peter Crouch after the ball had crossed the line and the referee, Chris Foy who was standing 4 yards away, looked to his linesman and gave? nothing.

Monday 13th September Aston Villa (h) Final Score: 2-1

The least blatant but still a clear penalty should have been awarded when James Collins handles inside the area for all to see. Well all but referee Lee Probert that is, more from him later. This incident is mainly forgotten due to the fact that we won.

Saturday 16th October Bolton (a) Final Score: 2-1

Very similar to Collins before him, Zat Knight is the man trying to juggle unsuccessfully as he rather stupidly flings an arm into the air. Another brainless piece of defending goes unnoticed, this time by Peter Walton.

Sunday 24th October Manchester United (h) Final Score: 1-2

In his 600th game for United Gary Neville is destroyed by Matthew Etherington in the first half to the extent that the former England man has to hack down the winger, twice, to stop him. Even though the first yellow card is slightly harsh, referee Andre Marriner took pity on him and allowed him to stay on the pitch after the most blatant yellow card there has ever been. I wonder, if that was Andy Wilkinson would he be let off? You must be joking!

Saturday 30th October Everton (a) Final Score 1-0

After battling away in a hard fought contest Stoke looked to have broken the deadlock when a Marc Wilson free-kick is flicked on to Tuncay who outmuscles Leighton Baines and sticks it in the net. Our friend Lee Probert disallows it for a push, when a breath of wind would have knocked Baines further. Gath Crooks reaction of Final Score says it all.

Saturday 6th November Sunderland (a) Final Score 2-0

We slip to our fourth consecutive league defeat after Asamoah Gyan makes us pay. But with the score still at 1-0 Kenwyne Jones deflected header loops up towards the far corner. After coming off the underside of the bar it hits Lee Cattermole`s hands, twice and it flies way for a corner. A red card and penalty should have been the cause of action. The resulting corner is again headed towards the corner by Jones and it cleared off the line? by Cattermole.

But when I thought it cant get any worse I realised? We haven`t had our favourite ref Mike Dean yet this season. Only knows what will happen there.
