Huth there it is… almost

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has expressed his desire to get Robert Huth to agree to terms and keep the big German youth at the heart of the Britannia defence.

Huth has just over a year to go on his existing contract, and with negotiations breaking down earlier in the year, Pulis will want to tie him to club for the foreseeable future as soon as possible.

The German International has been linked with a couple of high-profile clubs in past, one of which was Chelsea so they perhaps will be hoping that no contract is agreed.

Talks over a new deal will be getting underway very shortly as the club`s board prepare to re-open discussions

Tony told the Daily Mirror: “We are desperate to keep Robert at the club and hopefully we can reach an agreement with him soon

“He`s been an integral part of what we`ve done here and it`s always important to look after the players.”

He`s not wrong either as Robert Huth has featured 44 times, in all competitions, this season having been bought from Middlesbrough for £6 million in 2009.

I hope that Robert will continue to don the defence in a Stoke shirt as he is a quality central defender. The partnership of Huth and captain Ryan Shawcross has proved to many teams that it`s a force not to be messed with, and it also seems that Huth can cause a bit of trouble during the odd set-piece. He is Robert reliant who will always put in a committed shift every game, so, SIGN HIM UP!!!
