Hull defender on Potters radar

Stoke are set to make a move to sign Hull centre-half Steve Mouyokolo this summer, according to the Daily Mirror. The Tigers defender may find himself in the Championship next season if his team don`t start winning soon and Tony Pulis see`s a potential bargain in the 23 year-old.

Mouyokolo admittedly didn`t impress during his side`s 2-0 defeat at Stoke a couple of weeks ago, where he was twisted inside and out by Ric Fuller but he has won over a lot of Hull fans during the season and is seen as one of their best defenders, but with a defensive record like Hull`s its hardly a great complement.

Stoke do have plenty of defensive options but with the future of Ryan Shawcross still largely up in the air and with Abdoulaye Faye`s poor season, Pulis and Reid may be looking for some fresh blood.

However signing Mouyokolo won`t be easy, although a £2million fee is being discussed in the papers, top clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all linked as well.

Surely what Stoke need this summer is a ball-playing central midfielder, a right winger and a goal scoring centre forward? In defence they are pretty sound so I don`t really see this one running if Pulis keeps his current backline but if there are a couple of departures then maybe we will make a late bid.
