It was good news and possibly bad news today as Tony Pulis confirmed that Lee Hendrie will be staying at Stoke for a third month (subject to the ever present 24 hour recall clause) but Andy Griffin may be recalled by Portsmouth.

Even this good news was slightly tempered by worries over Hendrie’s fitness after he limped off at the end of Saturday’s win over West Brom and Pulis says that at the moment they don’t know if he will be fit for Tuesday’s match against Cardiff.

Harry Redknapp’s injury problems increased at the weekend with Mathew Taylor struggling for fitness and Dejan Stefanovic set for an operation on his knee. He has now been quoted as saying that he is considering whether to recall Griffin, but ‘no news is good news’ and Tony Pulis says that he has yet to have a call from Portsmouth.
