Stoke are having to fight an uphill battle at the Bridge after going 3-0 down by half time and losing Faye and Sorensen to injuries.

Two goals from Kalou, the second one ending up with Thomas Soresen been carried off with a suspected broken elbow, were followed up with Robert Huth bringing down Kalo in the penalty area and Frank Lampard putting the ball past Asmir Begovic.

Chelsea have been dominant in the first half, but no-one can say that Stoke have rolled over and died but the title hopefuls have been determined to put their defeat last week at Spurs behind them.

Potters fans could claim that Kalou’s goal which injured Sorensen should have been disallowed after he went in with a reckless two footed challenge and that Huth was unlucky to concede the penalty when the challenge appeared to take place just outside the area with Kalo then coming down just inside.

So a tough task awaits the Potters in the second 45 minutes…..
