John Eustace and Russell Hoult have signed new one year deals for the Potters, but the club have missed out on signing Trevor Sinclair.

It had been well trailed that Eustace was likely to sign soon and this confirmation will please fans. The added bonus of the experienced Hoult remaining as reserve keeper will also mean that we don’t need to worry about that position at least.

Tony Pulis also seemed relieved that he’d managed to retain two players after Martin Paterson’s sudden departure last week. He told the official site: ‘I am very happy that both players have put pen to paper with us at the club. They are both excellent professionals and are both two key members of the squad.
‘Everyone knows how much I think of John, and I am hoping he can come through pre-season unscathed and rediscover the form which made him a fan favourite a couple of years ago.’
Adding: ‘Russell is also an extremely good keeper and he will give Steve Simonsen some very stiff opposition for the number one spot.’

Meanwhile not so good news on one of the two targets that Pulis had been publicly stalking. Trevor Sinclair, who was a free agent after being released by Man City, has now joined Cardiff City.
