Tony Pulis has promised that Eidur Gudjohnsen will be ready for the first team on a regular basis by the end of December, hopefully before. But the Icelandic has finally started to show us what he is about albeit in a reserve encounter with Hereford.
The 32 year-old completed the full 90 minutes which shows his fitness is coming along nicely and he played his part in a 5-0 romp. Finally we saw glimpses of the former Chelsea star`s best, as he carved the defence opened several times, and on one occasion he produced some fantastic skill before releasing Tom Soares who set-up the final goal.
Potters fans, including me, have been disappointed at not seeing the clubs highest profile player feature too often. With some questioning whether he has the real hunger to get himself fully fit and in the team. He has looked over weight at all matches we have seen him in and he doesn`t seem to getting much slimmer.
Well hopefully this is a start, a full 90 minutes in front of the watching manager and most importantly he played well, he even missed the chance to play for Iceland so he could play yesterday. Now there is desire.
