Stoke defender Andrew Davies has hit out at Potters boss Tony Pulis for not involving him at all last season, and for not being named in the 25 man squad this year.

Davies, who has just joined Walsall on loan, said “When I came from Southampton I was injured and I didn`t really get the support I would have liked.

“I felt I was being punished in my second season for not being fit in the first year. He actually signed me when I was injured and then when I got to the club I wasn`t in his plans straight away so it was hard”.

Pulis signed the former Middlesbrough man 2 years ago after he guided the club to the Premier League. However, injuries have rued his time here and he has been limited to only two league appearances, both in the 2008/2009 season.

This year he wasn`t included in the 25 man Premier League squad and found himself behind the likes of Robert Huth, Andy Wilkinson and Ryan Shotton in the pecking order. His exit at the end of the season is likely, but after these comments it could be a lot sooner.
