Stoke City confirmed earlier today that defender Marc Muniesa had now completed his permanent move out to Spanish side Girona.

The 26-year-old spent the 2017/18 campaign with the La Liga outfit and he helped them to secure a second successive campaign in the top-flight. Whilst with them he made 14 appearances as they finished in 10th place in the table.
During his time at Stoke City following his arrival from Barcelona B back in 2013, he went on to make over 60 appearances in our shirt across all competitions.
There’s no confirmation on the fee that the Spanish side have paid for his services, but with them enacting the buy-clause they held on the loan arrangement, he has now apparently signed a three-year deal with them moving forward.
With Muniesa being popular given his interactions with the fanbase, there are plenty sorry to see him go even though they appreciate it’s probably the best move for all parties here. He’s certainly being wished well for the future.
Girona are going to be lucky to have him. Player who knew how to connect with the fans, loved the club, always played with a smile on his face, and has bags of talent.
It’s a shame the people who control our transfers are absolute idiots.— Ben Malkin (@stokeymad) June 27, 2018
