Richard Cresswell has revealed that it was his decision not to sign for Hull City and to join Stoke instead.

He told the official site that he was pleased that everything was now signed and sealed and was looking forward to playing a part in tonight’s friendly against Tranmere Rovers.

‘From my point of view’, he told Stoke City World, ‘it was a football decision. Things were said afterwards and things were said when they didn’t get what they wanted.’

Adding that he chose the Potters because: ‘I think we have a better chance of getting promoted and the gaffer was a big influence in my decision.’
