Every Stoke fan’s favourite Dutchman has got himself another job.

Former Stoke manager, Johan Boskamp has been given the job of keeping Belgium premier division side, FCV Dender in the top flight. He’s signed a two and half year contract as team coach. They are currently in bottom place after only picking up six points in their first thirteen matches.

At least he should do no worse than his last foray into Belgium football. After leaving the Brit, he landed the plum job of coach to Standard Liege but only lasted a few games as the then reigning League champions were quickly knocked out of the Champions League and started to plummet down the Jupiter League.

Bossie’s time at Stoke was marked by an interesting line in jackets, a deep love of chips and ‘sexy football’, not to mention a slight difference of opinion with John Rudge.

He once travelled on a scouting trip to Grimsby and arrived early just so that he could sample the fish and chips. Another memorable moment was when he refused to wave to the fans chanting his name during a match – apparently he thought they wanted him out… After his mistake was pointed out, there was much waving in subsequent games.

You may not have been our best manager, but you did give us some fun!
