Bojan Krkic has completed his exit from Stoke. However, this hasn’t taken the former Barcelona forward to Middlesbrough as he’s joined Mainz on loan.

Despite signing a new deal with Stoke last year the forward has struggled for regular football this season with Bojan making only five starts in the Premier League this season. The 26 year old would have found himself pushed behind Saido Berahino following his arrival from West Brom recently.

Commenting on this loan Bojan was quoted by the BBC as saying.

‘It is an honour for me that Mainz gives me the opportunity to prove myself in another top European league.’

Bojan went on to say – this same report quoted what he said on Twitter – he doesn’t feel this means his Stoke career is over.

The once capped Spanish international intends to return to the bet365 Stadium but couldn’t pass up this opportunity to join the German club where he can play regularly.

‘For the time being, this isn’t a goodbye to Stoke City. It’s just a ‘see you soon’, but I didn’t want to pass up on the opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in ensuring that I hold great memories of my time at this club. Without doubt, some of the happiest moments of my career have come in a Stoke shirt.’

Also leaving Stoke on a temporary basis over the weekend was Moha El Ouriachi Choulay. The 21 year old winger – who arrived after spells with Espanyol and Barcelona – in 2015 will spend the remainder of the season with Hearts.

Choulay hasn’t made his first team debut yet but will have the chance to impress Potters boss Mark Hughes – he’s also had a loan with Shrewsbury recently – during his time with the Scottish Premiership club.
