Bosnian stopper Asmir Begovic has pledged his alliance with Stoke City despite rumours of a potential deadline day move.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has been linked with European Champions Chelsea, Premier League Champions Manchester City and Manchester United in this window, but the 6ft 5in keeper has committed his future to the Britannia Stadium.

Begovic told Sky Sports: “I am in for training today, so I’m looking forward to staying and looking forward to the game at the weekend.

‘I don’t see anything happening now, that time has passed. I’m just concentrating on what I need to do here.”

Even with Stoke lining up a bid to move for Birmingham City`s England international goalkeeper, Begovic has said that he would welcome the arrival of the 19-year-old.

Stoke`s number one also told Sky Sports: “I would look forward to it if he comes. He’s another great talent.

‘We have a good group of goalkeepers already here and it would be good to have the competition around. He’s a big talent and I’m sure he would make us better.’
