Phil Bardsley has won the Vital Stoke man of the match award for his performance in the Potters 4-1 defeat against Man City at the Britannia Stadium.

The full back filled in at left back in the absence of Marc Wilson, and did a good job of trying to quell the threat of James Milner and Pablo Zabeleta.

The Scot also looked good going forward but will be disappointed being in a defence to concede four goals.

The 29-year old receives 5 maximum Player of the season points after winning the poll with 28% of the vote, beating debutant Ollie Shenton (27%) who receives 3pts and Phillip Wollscheid (14%) who receives 1pt.
