As we’ve already reported a few weeks ago, Sam Bangoura seems keen to leave Stoke after only one season and it is now reported that several European clubs have been making enquiries.

Bangoura, who still has two years left on his contract arrived at Stoke last August for £900,000 from Belgium club, Standard Liege – now managed by Johan Boskamp.

He initially set hearts racing with eight goals in ten games, but ran into a brick wall after returning from the African Cup of Nations, claiming only one goal in fifteen games. His off the field activities created many problems for club and manager and have been well reported on this site already.

The Potters will probably be happy to sell him as long as they can make a profit on the deal as the new manager, Tony Pulis seems keen to sign two new strikers before the start of the season. A sizable income from the sale of Bangoura would help swell the coffers of the Coates/Pulis war chest.
