Stoke have resigned Liverpool midfielder Oussama Assaidi on a season long loan deal.

The Morroccan has agreed to move to the Britannia Stadium for the second consecutive season after making 19 appearances for the Potters last season.

Earlier in the transfer window it seemed that the Potters were set to sign the former Heereveen winger on a permanent deal but deals stuttered until the final day of the window where Hughes moved back in for the 26-year-old following the injury to Peter Odemwingie.

Assaidi is the seventh summer signing for Mark Hughes, following the arrivals of Mame Biram Diouf, Steve Sidwell, Diontan Teixeria, Bojan, Phil Bardsley and Victor Moses.
