Mark Hughes made nine acquisitions during the summer and winter transfer windows, with a number of them raising a few eyebrows from Stoke fans and media a-like.

The Welsh manager managed to sign a number of players that have lit up the Britannia Stadium this season, but a few have yet to hit their full potential but you the Vital Stoke community have decided that Hughes` best addition was:

Ibrahim Afellay

Hughes signed the veteran Dutch midfielder on a free transfer from Spanish giants Barcelona.

It took the 30-year-old a little time to settle in Staffordshire, and was sent off in one of his early games after a silly interaction with West Brom`s Craig Gardener.

Since then, he hasn`t looked back, playing in a number of different roles and lighting up the Premier League with his silky passing and tremendous work rate.

His season has unfortunately been cut short after a training ground injury which is likely to keep him out until the New Year.

Afellay has made 31 appearances, scoring twice for the Potters.

The Utretch born player beat Glen Johnson and Giannelli Imbula (both 14%) to poll after he picked up 60% of the vote.
