There are reports this morning that say Stoke City are ready to swoop for Wolves forward Benik Afobe just days after the player was sold to the newly promoted club by Bournemouth.
It seems as though Wolves are willing to take a quick profit on the player who cost them £10million after having a successful loan spell at Molineux.
Stoke are willing to pay the new asking fee of £12million as they look to recruit new players for the new season ahead in the Championship after being unable to stave off relegation from the top flight last season.
Afobe proved to be a player who knew where the net was in a Wolves side that ran away with the Championship title, but just as it seems like the player was set for Premier League stardom, Stoke come along to add a bizarre twist to the tale.
The 25-year-old was sold to Bournemouth by Wolves in 2016 for £10million in 2016 having scored 22 goals in 46 league games. He hardly set the world alight in Eddie Howe’s side, scoring just 11 times in 70 appearances and struggled to pin down a regular spot.
Twitter has been busy, here are a few of the comments by fans..
Sounds messy; he hardly set the Championship alight either.

Don’t know what to make of the Afobe link! Bournemouth didn’t fancy him, and we’ve been linked with Vydra at least he’s scored and played regularly in the Championship!!

Would be ideal. Championship record looks good for the amount of games and minutes he has actually played.

he's always been good enough in that league to score around 1 in every 2 games. I'd have liked Abel Hernandez instead, but its not a bad move at all.
