Stoke City have only 12 points left to play for in this year’s battle in the Premier League.

With the games dwindling down now at the real business end of the campaign as Stoke City find themselves heading towards the end of May, sitting in 11th place in the Premier League table on 39 points there is still a reason to tentatively look behind us – especially with defeat to Swansea City in the last match.

Having picked up victory against Hull City though, as long as we don’t have another pointless run of fixture even a couple of draws should now be enough in reality to avoid the drop, but manager Mark Hughes will be after a strong end to the year to build some confidence for further improvement next campaign.

The gap to the dropzone has shrunk to eight points though so we need to make it more comfortable again and make sure we don’t become the side that gets sucked into the relegation battle late on.

Two more wins should more than guarantee it you’d think.
